Digiexpo Eyepiece

Them thingymajigs, you know, the creeper peepers. It's no mean feat to model eyes successfully; the things people search are subconsciously programmed to search for, all day long. Everyone notices if an eye is just not right. This Digiexpo advertising featured a print series of different eye-shapes, and a tv animation, an added challenge when working in 3D. The warrior figure crawled from Digital Artist Tuomas Korpi's tormented imagination, while the modeling stalwart behind it all was Mikko Lahti. And as if tackling the eye subject wasn't enough, the job involved the always-tricky skintone game: the customer's requirement, a beautifully ambiguë ethnicity is communicated ever so subtly but distinctly in the little area available.
